U.S. Marshals Join L.C.S.D. Search
by AJ de Saint Phalle
HYDE PARK - Lamoille County Sheriff Roger Marcoux Jr. has invited a
fugitive squad from the U.S. Marshals Service to join his search for
David LaBounty, a southern Vermonter with aggravated domestic assault
charges on his rap sheet, currently on escape status.
The Sheriff's Department became interested in LaBounty while
investigating the case of a woman, who was recently reported missing,
under very suspicious circumstances, from her home in Wolcott. Sheriff
Marcoux would not confirm any association between the missing local
woman and the fugitive LaBounty, and said, "There is no direct evidence
of a link between the two cases."
The 36 year old LaBounty is 5' 11", 205 pounds with blue eyes and brown
hair. LaBounty was born in Claremont, NH, and his last known residence
was southern Vermont. The U.S. Marshals Service is prepared to extradite
LaBounty from any state where he is apprehended. Anyone with information
regarding this case is asked to call the U.S. Marshals Service in
Burlington at 802-951-6271 or the Lamoille County Sheriff's Department
at 888-3502.
