Library Moves Forward
by Ben Hogwood

The Lanpher Memorial Library addition, in Hyde Park, is finally on the
fast track to completion.
Betty Borucki, treasurer and member of the library's board of trustees,
said all the plumbing and electric work has been done and workers are
continuing on both the inside and outside of the building. Workers are
currently putting up siding and are preparing to paint, she said. The
trustees are hoping the addition is completed before winter, Borucki added.
Hyde Park taxpayers unanimously authorized the town to borrow $75,000 at
a special meeting on June 29 and the trustees are doing everything they
can to use that money to complete the library's addition, a project they
have been working on for the past 15 years, said Borucki.
The town has five years to pay off the $75,000 loan, Borucki said. The
trustees are currently waiting to hear about two grants for which they
have applied, which Borucki said they are 99 percent likely to get. The
trustees are still asking for donations as they must pay back the
$75,000 loan.
