Mathieu Enterprises Expands in Hyde Park

Richard Mathieu, owner of Mathieu Enterprises, broke ground for a new
building in Hyde Park near VFW 7779 below Lamoille Union on Thursday,
July 22.
The 3,000 square foot building will be a repair facility for Mathieu's
school buses, he said. The area will include parking for 35 buses. The
building will be staffed with fulltime mechanics, he said.
This is an expansion of the business, said Mathieu, who currently has
153 yellow school buses and 35 non-yellow buses. Mathieu Enterprises has
been bussing locally for the past seven years.
Mathieu had difficulty getting the Act 250 permit for the building, but
once an issue with stormwater was addressed, the construction could begin.
Mathieu is hoping the building will be completed by October 1.
