The First Congregational United Church of Christ Church in Morrisville is planning a special concert of a virtual who’s who of Northern Vermont Musicians on Sunday, April 14.
The concert will be held at the upper Main Street church and will begin at 3:30 p.m. A lasagna dinner is planned for after the show and both will benefit the Mission of the Church, which is to serve and support the children and families of Lamoille County.
Reverend Dr. Marisa Laviola said they have arranged a strong lineup of musicians, all of whom have donated their time to the church to raise money to aid the groups that benefit from the church’s mission.
She noted the money does not go directly to the groups like Youth Rocks and the Morrisville Summer Lunch Program, but instead goes to helping making it easier for the church to help those organizations. Like, she noted, providing the downstairs space for the Youth Rocks teen center. Other programs that are helped by the church’s mission include: Baby Chat, Rocking Horse, Vermont Kin as Parents and the Easter Seals.
Among the artists scheduled to appear are: East Montpelier’s Colin McCaffrey, Gordon Stone, of Waterbury, Fairfield’s Keeghan Nolan and Woodchuck, VT’s own George Woodard. Also scheduled to perform are local favorites like Nancy MacDowell, Debbie Yacovone, and the WDEV’s Radio Rangers – Dave Rowell, Mark Struhsacker, Jim Pitman and Danny Coane.
Along with the music, there will be door prizes, a 50-50 raffle and of course, the lasagna dinner. Reverend Laviola said there will be take-out available for those who can’t stay for both, and people who can’t make the show are invited to come for dinner as well.
Tickets for both the concert and the dinner will be available at the door. For more information call the church office at 888-2225.
