Morristown’s Holly Reynolds is headed back to the Vermont State Women’s Golf Association (VSWGA) State Amateur Championship. Reynolds, who is the defending champ at the event, will look to extend her own record of seven total amateur championships when she begins play on Tuesday, August 13, against other amateur’s from around the state at the Manchester Country Club in Manchester Center.
The VSWGA State Amateur Championship is a three day event taking place on August 13, 14, and 15. Entrants will play a total of 54 holes over the course of the tournament. Along with Reynolds a total of 65 other amateur golfers will be participating in the event.
Holly, who is a member of the Copley Country Club in Morrisville, won a state-record seventh VSWGA Amateur Championship last year when the event was held at the St. Johnsbury Country Club. Reynolds claimed that seventh title last year in strong fashion by shooting a three-day score of 217, 11 shots better than the second place finisher.
Along with her 2012 championship, Reynolds has also claimed the VSWGA Amateur State Championship in 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, and 2010.
Reynolds and the other top contenders have a tee time of 8 a.m. on the first day of play on Tuesday at Manchester County Club.
