CAMBRIDGE – Residents of Cambridge will soon have a new food option. The Jeffersonville gas station Madonna Mobil, which is also known as On The Run, will soon be offering customers the opportunity to dine at a Subway Restaurant. Work has been ongoing over the last few months to make room for a Subway in the gas station, which sits at the intersection of Route 15 and Church Street.
“We are very excited to be adding a Subway,” commented Madonna Mobil manager Kevin Kuscavage, “It will be a positive for both our store and for the community.”
According to Kuscavage, extensive renovations to Madonna Mobil began in November of 2012 after the store updated or received the necessary permits. Among the renovations was a complete remodeling of the inside of the store and the installation of an extra bathroom. A new seating area will also be available for customers who purchase food at the store.
“Our location is a prime one due to our proximity to Smugglers’ Notch Resort,” explained Kuscavage on the reasons for adding the new dining option, “Subway is a good brand that allows people to know exactly what they are getting while also saving them money.”
Kuscavage expects the Subway to be up and running by the middle of January. The store is franchising the Subway itself, meaning that it will be providing the new staff. According to Kuscavage they expect to add 12 to 15 new jobs as a result of opening the restaurant.
