Lamoille Valley Ford has earned another notable distinction as a Ford dealership. Together with Twin State Ford in St. Johnsbury, the Hardwick-based dealership sold the highest number of Ford plug-in hybrids of any Ford dealership group in the United States in the month of September.
LVF and Twin State were two of only three Ford dealerships in the state of Vermont to sign up to sell Ford’s plug-in hybrids in 2013. According to owner Dan Keene, during the summer, he decided to challenge his staff to sell as many of the cars as possible.
The result of this challenge was the 30 Energies in 30 Days promotion at both dealerships, during which the staff attempted to sell as many 2013 Fusion Energi and C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrids as possible.
However, the goal of 30 in 30 soon became obsolete as the staffs of the two dealerships were able to sell 30 of the cars by September 20. The goal was then changed to 50 cars sold in the month, and that goal was reached by September 28. According to Keene the two dealerships fell just short of the final goal of 60 plug-ins sold during the month, with a final tally of 58 being sold over the 30 days of September.
