Anyone with a craving for some mid-winter pie will soon have the chance to satisfy it. That’s because the group Partners in Education (PIE) will be holding a Pie Breakfast Fundraiser event on Ground Hogs Day, Saturday, February 2, at Hyde Park Elementary School.
“The overall goal of Partners in Education is to develop a true sense of belonging for the entire community and we hope people will enjoy getting together on Groundhog Day to eat pie and listen to good music,” stated PIE co-chair Luciana Swenson.
According to Swenson the event will consist of attendees having the opportunity to purchase a wide variety of pies ranging from fruit pies to chocolate pies to cream pies to quiches. Along with the pies, refreshments will be available.
The Pie Breakfast Fundraiser will begin at 8:30 a.m. and run until 10:30 a.m. in the Hyde Park gymnasium. The folk and bluegrass group The Bug Boys Band will begin performing at the event at 9 a.m. All proceeds from the event will be divided between various PIE projects for Hyde Park Elementary and the Lamoille Area Cancer Network, which will receive a portion of the funds in honor of Mackenzie Pratt.
