The Vermont State Police are still asking for information regarding the whereabouts of Shane Phillps, 32, of Johnson.

Phillips has been at large, but with outstanding warrants for a domestic assault for about the last 10 years. He recently moved back onto the VSP radar after he was involved in a high speed chase from Berkshire to Belvidere on November 18.  That incident also included Phillips allegedly attempting to ram a police car.

After the chase, Phillips and the passenger in his car, Raymond Earle, 37, of Wolcott took off on foot and led police on a two-mile foot pursuit.

Earle was apprehended, but Phillips eluded capture. Earle was charged with aiding in the commission of two felonies - one for felony eluding and one for felony aggravated assault on a police officer.

When captured, Phillips will face charges of felony attempted aggravated assault on a police officer, felony attempting to elude, careless and negligent operation and excessive speed.

Since that incident, Earle was sentenced to 60 days for stealing copper wire, valued at $14,000, from transformers at the asbestos mine in Lowell.  He was sentenced in Orleans Superior Court in Newport for felony possession of stolen property.

Anyone with information regarding where Phillips may be located is asked to call the Vermont State Police at 635-7036 or the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department at 888-3502.
